About

Professor Pea is a 1997 summa cum laude graduate of the College of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the University of Illinois Law Review. She has taught family law, decedents estates & trusts, evidence, remedies, sexual orientation and law, advanced torts, and religion and law, and has previously been a visiting assistant professor in the College’s Legal Writing Program.

She has twice been honored by the Champaign County Bar Association for her outstanding commitment to pro bono legal representation. Professor Pea also holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor’s degree in health information management from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she has served on the faculty of the Department of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences. Currently, she serves as a permanent law clerk to the Illinois Supreme Court Justice Rita B. Garman.

In the spring of 2006, Professor Pea received the first campus-wide Ally Award in recognition for her work on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues.
