About

A 2001 graduate of the College of Law, Professor Andrew Bequette is a shareholder in the firm of Beckett Law Office, P.C., which maintains offices in Urbana and Tuscola, Illinois. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois in 1998.

Professor Bequette has experience in multiple areas of general practice including civil rights litigation, criminal defense, family law, personal injury, and estate planning, but has presently focused his practice on municipal law, civil litigation, and guardianship matters.

He is currently the attorney for multiple municipalities in Illinois and has acted as special counsel for several more. Professor Bequette practices law in state and federal court and has substantial appellate experience. He has maintained a strong presence at the College of Law since graduation.

Since 2008, Professor Bequette has taught and supervised the Federal Civil Rights Clinic, which is one of the few law school clinics in the United States to represent clients with civil rights claims stemming from arrests and incarceration.
