Kathryn Pyszka serves as an adjunct professor at the College of Law. She previously worked in the Division of Enforcement at the Chicago Regional Office of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission for over 27 years, where she led and supervised complex investigations and enforcement actions covering the breadth of the SEC’s enforcement program, including public company disclosure and accounting, broker-dealers, investment advisers, market structure, unregistered and fraudulent offerings, insider trading, and manipulative trading. While at the SEC, she held the positions of Associate Regional Director, Assistant Regional Director, Senior Trial Counsel, Branch Chief, and Staff Attorney. Before joining the SEC, Professor Pyszka served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joe Billy McDade at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois and was in private practice. She received her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
