Professor Roebuck joined the University of Illinois College of Law as an adjunct professor in fall 2018 and as a lecturer in law in spring 2019. She has extensive litigation experience in both the private and public sectors, and began her legal career in 2001 as a securities litigator in the San Diego office of Cooley Godward LLP. Professor Roebuck then joined a growing securities litigation team and worked with this team in the San Diego offices of Fish & Richardson P.C. and Morrison & Foerster LLP. During her tenure as a securities litigator, she worked on Securities and Exchange Commission informal inquiries and formal enforcement actions, internal investigations, and class action litigation. In 2009, Professor Roebuck moved to the public sector and began working for the California Department of Justice as a deputy attorney general in the criminal division. As a deputy attorney general, she represented the Governor’s Office and multiple state agencies in litigating or settling disputes regarding a wide range of alleged constitutional, statutory, or regulatory violations.
