About

Judge Benjamin is an associate judge of the 6th Judicial Circuit in Champaign County, Illinois. She currently presides in juvenile delinquency cases, orders of protection, family law and administrative review cases. She has also previously overseen child support enforcement, guardianships for disabled adults and children, probate matters, and municipal court.  

Judge Benjamin is active with the Illinois State Bar Association, and currently serves on its Bench & Bar Section Council and Food Law Section Council. She is also a member of the Champaign County Bar Association and East Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association. Prior to taking the bench, she practiced primarily in family law and civil litigation at Meyer Capel, P.C. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia and her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she was an Editor for the Intellectual Property Moot Court Board, Cases Editor for the Illinois Bar Journal, and named Best Advocate in Trial Advocacy.
