Jason Bent is a Visiting Professor of Law teaching Civil Procedure. He currently serves as Professor of Law and the Director of the Martin H. Malin Institute for Law and the Workplace at Chicago-Kent School of Law. He previously taught and served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Stetson University College of Law.

Professor Bent regularly teaches Employment Law, Employment Discrimination Law, Civil Procedure, Complex Litigation, Remedies, and other specialized courses in the field of employment law. His research focuses on employment discrimination law and worker safety regulation, including developing legal issues presented by the adoption of new technologies in the workplace.  He is co-author of the treatise The Statistics of Discrimination: Using Statistical Evidence in Discrimination Cases, and the casebooks Legal Protections for the Individual Employee and Remedies: Cases, Problems, and Strategies.

Professor Bent served as judicial clerk to Judge Cornelia Kennedy at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and Judge Joan B. Gottschall at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and was a litigator in private practice in Chicago.
