About

Rebecca Páez-Rodríguez teaches Trial Advocacy for Graduates Students at the College of Law. She is also the Associate Director for International Programs at the College of Fine and Applied Arts.

Previously, Professor Páez-Rodríguez taught at the University of Puerto Rico, where she was an Adjunct Professor at the School of Law for over seven years, teaching the Civil and Labor and Employment Law Legal Clinics and an elective on Mandatory Leaves in the Public and Private Sectors. At the UPR School of Law she also Coordinated the LL.M. Program, International Programs and served as Academic Director of the Summer Program with the Facultat de Dret of the Universitat de Barcelona. Prior to the UPR, she was an Adjunct Professor at the Interamerican University School of Law in San Juan. 

For two years, Professor Páez-Rodríguez Co-Directed the UPR Integral Center for Victims Support, a Law School initiative that provided free legal services to the elderly, victims of human trafficking and domestic/gender violence. The Center resulted from a successful Department of Justice Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Grant.   

Professor Páez-Rodríguez has been a licensed attorney since 1995. Aside her academic career, she was a Partner and a Counsel at two prominent full-service law firms in San Juan, PR. As the Principal of Páez-Rodríguez Law Office, she devoted her practice to the representation of employers in labor and employment law matters, including counseling and litigation in local and federal courts and administrative agencies in areas such as employment discrimination, wage and hour claims, the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII, the ADEA, workers’ compensation, leaves of absence, labor arbitration and employment termination.

She served as Labor Advisor for the Governor of Puerto Rico, a Law Clerk for former Puerto Rico Supreme Court Associate Justice, Francisco Rebollo-López and former United States District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico, Héctor Laffitte. 

Professor Páez-Rodríguez also holds a Certificate in Employee Benefits Law from the Institute for Applied Management and Law in Washington DC, as well as a Certification in Mediation and Dispute Resolution. 

As a Law Student Professor Páez-Rodríguez was a member of the Law Review of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, School of Law.

She is admitted to practice in Puerto Rico, United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and the 1st  Circuit Court of Appeals.
