About
Professor Sam Zuidema is a litigation attorney at Winston & Strawn LLP in Chicago. He focuses his practice on critical motions and appeals, but he has experience in all aspects of litigation, from initial case workup through jury verdict. In state and federal courts, Sam has represented clients both big and small—as plaintiffs and defendants—in cases involving complex issues like trade secrets, products liability, securities fraud, trademarks, contracts, and other commercial disputes.
Professor Zuidema graduated summa cum laude from the College of Law in 2018, where he served as the managing articles editor of the University of Illinois Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also won awards for excellence in writing and advocacy and received the “Best Oralist” award for his performance at the 2017 Frederick Green Moot Court Competition, where he argued before a panel of state and federal appellate judges. Professor Zuidema also served as a clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit before returning to practice at Winston.
