Recruiting Guidelines
Guidelines Applicable to 2L and 3L Students
- Offers should be made in writing with all material terms and conditions of employment clearly expressed.
- Students are permitted to hold a maximum of three offers at any given time.
- Offers should remain open for at least 14 days from the date the written offer is transmitted.
- Employers are encouraged to grant reasonable requests for extensions of the above-referenced deadlines.
Guidelines Applicable to 1L Students
- Employers may begin soliciting applications from College of Law students on or after November 1, 2022.
- Offers should be in writing with all material terms and conditions of employment clearly expressed.
- Summer employment offers should remain open for at least 14 days from the date the written offer is transmitted.
- Employers are encouraged to grant reasonable requests for extensions of the above-referenced deadlines.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
An employer may deviate from these Guidelines if it provides its offer deadline policy in writing to Greg Miarecki at the Office of Career Planning and Professional Development (miarecki@illinois.edu) no later than 24 hours before extending an offer to the student. We ask that as a courtesy you also notify the student, at the time of the callback interview, of any deviations from these Guidelines.
