Hon. Edward R. Duncan ’72

The Honorable Edward R. Duncan, Jr. passed away on September 8, 2026. In 1987, he was appointed Associate Judge in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit in DuPage County; later appointed Circuit Judge, Duncan served DuPage County and the State of Illinois for over 20 years. 

David Merwin ’72

Dave Merwin is in his seventh year as a court appointed attorney representing parents in neglect and abuse cases in Muskegon, Michigan.

Bill Coulson ’72

With the establishment by state law of the new NITA agency to operate Chicago area mass transit, Bill Coulson concludes in August a record 20 years of service on the Board of Directors of the Regional Transit Authority, NITA’s predecessor agency. Coulson was appointed four times to four year terms by the Cook County Board of Commissioners.

Robert F. Wrobel ’70

Robert (Bob) Wrobel passed away on July 30, 2025. He was affiliated with the Stinson Mag law firm in Kansas City, Missouri; prior to that he was General Counsel for the Marley Company of Mission Woods, Kansas; General Counsel of the Duracell Corporation; and Vice President and Chief Legal officer of Alpharma, Inc. He retired in 2007 to Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

Ronald Berman ’74

Ronald Berman has retired as a shareholder, director, and officer of Neider & Boucher, S.C. as of April 30, 2025. He was with Neider & Boucher, S.C. for over 30 years; prior to that he was a partner with Grant Thornton, working with that CPA firm for over 20 years. He will continue as Of Counsel at Neider & Boucher to assist in serving clients. Ron obtained AV status with Martindale-Hubbell as well as being named as a Best Lawyer in America, a Super Lawyer of Wisconsin, and a Top Lawyer of Madison.

Tom Lamont ’72

Former Assistant Secretary of the Army and defense consultant Tom Lamont has retired as a consultant for the Boeing Company.

Michael Stern ’73

After a career of private practice in western Colorado, two terms as District Attorney for Gunnison County, Colorado, serving as Acting Attorney General in Guam and later as Assistant Attorney General in St. Croix, and having a case featured on Unsolved Mysteries, Michael Stern has retired. He is enjoying his life after law in Florida.
