Law 616:  Environmental Law

This course offers an introduction to the legal regime established to address environmental ills. After considering general questions and challenges that pervade the filed, the course looks closely at four federal statutes: the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.

Sequence and Prerequisites: None

Evaluation: Classroom attendance and participation is expected. Grades will be based on two mid-term exams (Feb. 20 and April 17) and two, word-limited writing assignments based on class readings, one due immediately after spring break, the other at the end of the final exam period.  There will be no final exam.
