This course deals with the concept of property, the acquisition of private property, the recognized property interests, and the use of property. It covers the basic aspects of the law of property, with particular emphasis on the law of land, tracing the historical and modern development of the doctrine of estates through the principles of transfer of interests in land to the growing role of the state (local, state, and federal) in modern land use planning and environmental controls.
