Law 603: Torts
This course deals with the law of civil wrongs. The various bases of tort liability will be studied, including negligence, intentional torts, and strict liability. Although coverage will vary from section to section and from year to year, specific topics may include proof of negligence, the concept of duty, medical malpractice, causation, liability for emotional and economic harm, contributory and comparative fault, assumption of risk, liability for ultrahazardous activities, an introduction to damages and insurance law, assault, battery, and false imprisonment.
Sequence and Prerequisites: Required in the first year for JD students.
Evaluation: Administered final examination
