Judicial Law Clerk, Cook County Chief Judge Office

As a fellow with the Office of University Counsel at UIC, I worked closely with a number of experienced attorneys on a variety of legal matters pertaining to the University,

such as drafting and review of contracts for goods and services, arbitration of union member grievances, leasing and license agreements involving University property, and providing support for the University’s application of administrative procedures in accordance with state and federal law. University Counsel is a small office covering a broad field of work in support of the research hospital and the University’s many academic programs both at home and abroad. The attorneys and staff are incredibly welcoming and supportive of recent graduates, not only in your work as a fellow but in your search for a more permanent position as well. Attorneys I had performed work for provided strong recommendations that enabled me to receive an offer at my current place of employment as a law clerk to a judge in the Cook County Circuit Court’s Chancery Division. I highly recommend this fellowship as a great opportunity to enter the Chicago legal market and connect with new areas of law you may not have previously experienced or considered.
