Law and Philosophy
The primary mission of the Law and Philosophy Program (IPLP) is to advance knowledge about legal topics of philosophical significance, particularly those that implicate moral, political, economic, and environmental issues. IPLP regularly sponsors lectures, conferences, roundtables, and dinner seminars that involve scholars from across the departments of the University of Illinois with leading theorists from around the world. It hosts a regular film series that brings members of the University and larger Central Illinois community together to discuss environmental topics that have significant ethical dimensions. It periodically sponsors Faculty Fellows who pursue research in the field of legal philosophy while teaching at the College of Law. And it supports interdisciplinary initiatives within the larger University that are devoted to topics of broad legal relevance and philosophical interest.
