Martin Joseph Knanishu passed away at the Albuquerque, New Mexico Veterans Medical Center on June 17, 2019 at the age of 70 with loving family and friends by his side. He graduated from Augustana College was drafted and served in Vietnam, then entered the University of Illinois College of Law and graduated in 1975. Martin’s long career as a lawyer began in the University of Illinois Student Legal Service, then in a long service as a Public Defender and in private practices concentrating in criminal defense law in Champaign, Illinois, Roswell and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
