As an attorney in the Messerli Kramer Corporate group, Nick Phillips brings years of business counseling and transactional experience to his clients. He has acted as general counsel to companies located in the U.S. and abroad, helping them draft domestic and international agreements that include terms and conditions of B2B purchases, software and licensing, vendors, marketing, confidentiality, liability waivers, legal services, employment, and executive compensation. He also has broad-based representative experience in the areas of corporate governance, risk management, employment law counseling and dispute resolution, and real estate.

Nick works with his clients to negotiate contracts, litigate disputes, and develop their businesses on a global scale. He is an expert communicator with proficiencies in some of the most commonly spoken languages in the world. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, proficient in Spanish, and has intermediate understanding of Japanese. This allows him to represent his clients and their interests globally, helping them connect and work with other businesses as they confront trade, compliance, and other corporate challenges.

The St. Louis Business Journal has recognized Husch Blackwell attorney Aleks O. Rushing as a member of the publication’s 2019 30 Under 30 class. The annual award series honors “future leaders of the region and the local business community.” The 30 members of the 2019 class were chosen from nearly 300 nominations. Aleks was the only Illini to be featured in the 30 Under 30 2019 class.

Based in Husch Blackwell’s St. Louis office, Rushing is a member of the firm’s Education group and counsels colleges, universities, and schools on investigations, litigation and compliance matters, including alleged student or employee misconduct involving criminal activity, minors on campus, sex, race, age and national origin discrimination.
